From the nearby historical mining community of Gold Bridge, the IKE District is linked via both paved highways and rail line to Vancouver and its international port facilities.

Gold Bridge is connected to the electric power grid via BC Hydro's Bridge River system. BC Hydro recently spent some $400 M upgrading the Bridge River system to generate 445 MW of power (with capabilities of up to 550 MW), comprising 6 to 8% of BC's low-cost, low-carbon intensity electrical supply.
