IKE Project

Deposit & Exploration Targets

Amarc’s technical team has completed a comprehensive evaluation of historical data associated with the IKE District, in combination with its own more recent exploration data and analyses from the eastern area of the project. The latter includes 189 km2 of geological mapping, 3,017 surface geochemical samples, 163.6 line-km of IP, 1,609 line-km of airborne magnetics, and drilling of ~18,000 m of core. This comprehensive analytical approach rapidly advanced the understanding of the discovery and development potential of the IKE District – especially for higher value intrusion-related replacement and porphyry Cu-Au±Mo-Ag deposits within the Greater Empress area, centered on the Empress Deposit.

Greater Empress Area

In addition to the Empress Deposit and Granite deposit target, the 35 km2 Greater Empress area includes six identified porphyry and replacement-style Cu-Au±Mo±Ag deposit and exploration targets. Summaries of example deposit and exploration targets are provided below:

Empress East Cu-Au-Ag Replacement Deposit Target

  • Located - ~1 km E of the Empress Deposit
  • Historical work - limited drilling, with geochemical and geophysical surveys
  • Opportunity - good potential exists, with further drilling, to expand and develop previously intercepted good grade Empress-style mineralization
  • Reference - Empress East Table, IKE Report

Empress Gap Cu-Cu-Ag Replacement Deposit Target

  • Located - in the 1 km gap zone between Empress and Empress East
  • Historical work - limited shallow percussion and core drilling, with IP and soil geochemical surveys
  • Opportunity - clear potential with drilling to discover additional Empress-style mineralization
  • Reference – IKE Report

Buzzer Cu-Au-Ag±Mo Porphyry Deposit Target

  • Located – to the ESE of Empress East
  • Historical work - drilling intercepted higher grade porphyry Cu-Au-Ag±Mo mineralization
  • Opportunity – mineralization may either be part of a small high-level cupola or a large mineralized intrusive-hosted Cu-Au body below as indicated by magnetic surveys: target requires drill testing to depth
  • Reference - Buzzer Table, IKE Report

Empress West Cu-Au-Ag Exploration Target

  • Located – large target extending >2 km to the W of the Empress Deposit
  • Historical work - limited (mainly shallow percussion) drill holes, IP and geochemical surveys
  • Opportunity - similar geology to the Empress Deposit with historical works indicating the potential for additional higher grade replacement Cu-Au-Ag Empress-style mineralization, and potentially concealed Cu-Au±Mo-Ag porphyries: modern IP and drilling are required to test a series of defined targets
  • Reference: IKE Report

IKE District (other targets)

Several centres of porphyry Cu (e.g. Rowbottom, Mad Major (OMG)) and epithermal Au±Ag (e.g. Battlement, Mewtwo) targets occur outside, but in close proximity to, the IKE Deposit and Greater Empress area. Encouraging but limited exploration by Amarc and/or historical operators indicate that further survey work followed by drilling is required to establish the potential of these promising targets.
