Critical Mineral Consistency Act of 2024
U.S Critical Minerals List Now Includes Copper
On November 15, 2024, the US House of Representatives approved 2024 Critical Mineral Consistency Act. The bill modifies the Energy Act of 2020 to expand the definition of critical minerals to include critical materials designated by the Department of Energy (DOE), with the following minerals being added to the US critical mineral list: copper, electrical steel, silicon and silicon carbide on the critical minerals list.
